Tropical Hut, which mainly offers catering options, is expected to open sometime this summer on W. Pleasant Avenue, its website says.
Pilippine-born owner, Chef Leo, has been known to combine many flavoring and curing techniques, including the creative use of marinades, flavored brines and natural wood smoking, the Tropical Hut website says.
The restaurant already has several locations in Parsippany, Hackensack, Old Bridge, Somerset and Spring Valley, N.Y.
Yelpers love the barbecued pork, ube biko (dehydrated purple yam), palabok (noodles with eggs) and pichi pichi (desserts made with grated cassava and topped with shaved coconut).
